Application Instructions
Register
To register, type in your email address and create your password. The first time you login, you will be prompted to complete your profile so that you may apply for FAS internship programs. It is very important to keep your profile updated after the application deadline so that the panelists review your most current information and so that we may easily contact you throughout the selection process.
Registered Users: Your username and password allow you to enter the application system and make updates to your application until the application deadline
New Users: Your username and password allow you to enter the application system and make updates while your application is "in progress". PLEASE NOTE: Once you have submitted the application, you will NOT be able to make changes to the application.
Application
Once you have created your profile, you will be provided and will need to choose from the list of the available internship opportunities. Please consult the FAQ's or the help buttons if you have any questions or need assistance during the application process. At any time before the deadline, you may save your application for later revision.
Submit Documents
The application process for all internship programs require that you attach your resume, statement of interest, letter of recommendation and official transcripts as electronic documents. The online system will prompt you for each document and will not allow you to complete the application process without attaching them. The online system provides a user friendly browse and upload function. If you do not have electronic copies of these documents, you will need to scan the hard copies to convert them into electronic documents. Please do not send any documents to FAS unless requested to do so. Documents received prior to request will not be processed.
Review
Each eligible and complete application submitted by the deadline is reviewed and ranked by the FAS selection committee. Applicants are notified whether or not they are placed on the final list according to the program timetables available online at http://www.fas.usda.gov/admin/newjobs/newjobs.html
Notification
You will be able to check the status of your application throughout the internship process by logging into your account.
